Cookie policy
This English version is a courtesy translation provided for your convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version of this cookie policy prevails.
This page explains which cookies and other trackers may be placed on your device when you visit the website https://www.mycolorsworld.com (My Color’s), what they are used for, and how to change your choices at any time.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file saved on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) by your browser when you visit a website. It allows the website to recognise your browser and remember certain information for as long as the cookie is valid. The term “tracker” more broadly covers cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tags, browser local storage).
In accordance with article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and the guidelines and recommendations of the CNIL (the French data protection authority), trackers that are strictly necessary for the website to work may be placed without your consent. All others, in particular audience measurement and advertising trackers, are only placed with your prior consent.
Strictly necessary cookies
By default, the website only uses the following three cookies, which it needs in order to work. They are placed by My Color’s, are not used to follow you on other websites and do not require your consent:
mc_session: keeps your session, your cart and your login to your account. Duration: up to 30 days.mc_consent: remembers your cookie choice (accept or refuse), so that we do not ask you again on every visit. Duration: 6 months.mc_lang: remembers the language you chose (French or English), so that the website is shown to you in that language. As a language preference cookie, it is exempt from consent under the CNIL guidelines. Duration: 1 year.
The chat assistant, if enabled, remembers your current conversation in your browser’s session storage (sessionStorage): this data stays on your device and is erased when you close the tab. It is only used to let you continue the discussion and does not require your consent.
If you block these cookies in your browser settings, some features of the website (cart, logging in to your account) will not work.
When you pay, you are redirected to Stripe’s secure payment page, which may place its own cookies, needed for payment security and fraud prevention. These cookies are covered by Stripe’s cookie policy.
Trackers that require your consent
If we enable them, and only after you have given your consent through the cookie banner, the following tools may be loaded. They place their own trackers or read information on your device:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google): audience measurement, to understand how the website is used (pages viewed, browsing paths, type of device) and improve it.
- Google Ads (Google): measuring the effectiveness of our ads on Google (knowing whether a visit or purchase followed an ad) and personalised advertising.
- Meta Pixel (Meta, for Facebook and Instagram): measuring the effectiveness of our ads on Facebook and Instagram and building advertising audiences.
- Pinterest Tag (Pinterest): measuring the effectiveness of our ads on Pinterest and building advertising audiences.
- TikTok Pixel (TikTok): measuring the effectiveness of our ads on TikTok and building advertising audiences.
These trackers last 13 months at most. The data they collect (for example the pages viewed, a technical identifier, information about your device and, where applicable, the fact that a purchase was made) is sent to these companies, which may process it outside the European Union, in particular in the United States, and use it under their own privacy policies. The applicable safeguards are described in our privacy policy.
If you refuse these trackers, or if you make no choice, none of them is loaded, and you can use the website and shop as usual. Your choice is kept for 6 months, after which we ask you again.
Change your choices at any time
You can accept or refuse these trackers just as easily, and change your mind at any time, as simply as you gave your consent. Click the button below to reopen the cookie banner:
If you withdraw your consent, the tools concerned are no longer loaded. Trackers they have already placed can be deleted from your browser settings.
Browser settings
You can also set your browser to refuse cookies or delete those already saved. Every browser offers these settings in its menu (usually under “Settings”, “Privacy” or “Cookies and site data”). Blocking all cookies may, however, stop the cart and account login from working. The CNIL gives practical advice on its website: www.cnil.fr.
